The proverbial lost needle; found in an arena

Prompt:

Portal

You know that phrase “a needle in a haystack”? Finding it sounded pretty damn simple in comparison with the task ahead of us, truth be told. Katie Chang was a friend we’d known since we’d all met up during our university days. She’d gone on to making eye-wateringly large sums of money as a designer for a couple of big US brands like Nike and Apple and had made enough to retire from “work” at the ripe old age of 34 and now did her own thing, making hideously (don’t tell her I said that!) bright, large, abstract canvases depicting “modern day strife” or some such. I didn’t like them but…

She’d called us up, frantic, crying and hyper-ventilating as her elderly, Alzheimer’s afflicted Dad had gone walkabout from the large house they shared in central London. He was an Arsenal fan and she knew that he would be going to the derby match at Wembley that day. We had to find him before anything bad happened. What’s the odds of us locating an elderly Chinese man, apparently wearing traditional robes and holding a large ceramic pot dancing frantically somewhere, deep in the middle of the crowd at this packed soccer match?
